Location: Hybrid - Bristol - 3 days on site
Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)
Rate: £550-650 per day (Outside IR35)

We are seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of a groundbreaking product in a fast-paced, startup-style environment. You will work in a small team of four, combining hands-on technical development with client-facing solutions architecture.

Your mission: optimize advanced models for deployment in environments with limited compute power, addressing real-world challenges in edge computing.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize machine learning models for constrained edge environments.
• Act as the technical lead, mentoring teammates and ensuring delivery excellence.
• Collaborate with clients to define requirements and guide architecture.
• Tackle challenges of transitioning cloud-based models to low-resource environments.

Essential Experience:

• Proficiency in Python, Docker, and data storage tools (e.g., Redis).
• Expertise in LLMs, RAG techniques, and fine-tuning.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of speech technologies, edge computing, or defence/military sectors.
