Job Description
Principal Business Analyst - Build the blueprint for how analysis is done.
Are you looking for more than just writing user stories or mapping processes for the hundredth time?
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing consultancy as their first Principal Business Analyst, taking the lead in shaping how they deliver analysis across complex, business-critical change.
You’ll work directly with C-level execs at some of the UK’s biggest names in financial services, helping them navigate transformation, regulatory change and operating model redesigns.
🌟 What makes this different
- You’ll design frameworks, set standards, and build how analysis is done from scratch, not slot into a rigid BA methodology.
- You will be given the freedom to run with your ideas and tailor approaches to each client’s needs.
- From boardroom conversations shaping the direction, down into defining what needs to change operationally, you will be involved both strategically and hands-on
✅ What we’re looking for
- Extensive Financial Services experience, ideally across Insurance, Life, Pensions or Investments.
- Ideally, some consulting experience - you’ll be the face of programmes, building credibility quickly and guiding clients through ambiguity.
- A track record of driving large-scale change, whether regulatory, tech-enabled or full operating model shifts.
- Comfortable working at C-suite level, shaping strategy, then making sure it’s delivered.
💷 What’s on offer
- ~£100k + bonus + benefits & a genuine step up for senior BAs ready to lead.
- Hybrid model: typically once a week in your nearest office (South West, North or London), plus travel to client sites when needed.
- A grown-up, collaborative culture, with plenty of headroom to influence and grow as this function scales.
👉 Interested?
Even if you’re not actively looking, this could be worth a conversation - opportunities to set the agenda as the first Principal BA, in such a varied FS environment, don’t come up every day.
