Senior Credit Risk Strategy Analyst

• Salary: up to £55,000 + excellent benefits
• Hybrid – Cardiff (1–2 days per week in the office)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Credit Risk Strategy Analyst to join a growing, ambitious financial services business. This role is all about shaping and optimising the credit acquisition strategies  - ensuring responsible lending, growing sustainably, and delivering great outcomes for customers.

What you’ll be doing

• Take ownership of the monthly portfolio performance cycle - analyse results, spot trends, and propose strategy changes.
• Refine credit decisioning strategies at acquisition stage (scorecards, policy rules, affordability).
• Produce clear, actionable MI and reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with risk, pricing, product and operations teams to ensure strategies align with business goals.
• Play a key role in a small, close-knit team, with the opportunity to mentor junior analysts as the team grows.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in credit risk analysis or strategy within retail/consumer lending
• Strong SQL/data analysis skills
• Understanding of credit risk KPIs such as defaults, bad debt, and portfolio profitability.
• Ability to turn analysis into strategy and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborative, personable team player who thrives in a fast-growing environment.
