Job Description

IT Engineer (Projects + Support)
Caerphilly
Salary up to £45,000 + annual bonus + benefits

A hands-on IT role combining technical escalation and project delivery, within a genuinely employee‑owned business.

You’ll be joining a growing IT services company where the people delivering the work also own the business. As an employee‑owned organisation, everyone has a stake in success, a voice in how things are done, and the space to grow their career properly. The culture is collaborative, supportive and practical - focused on doing great work, not ticking boxes.

This role sits across 2nd/ 3rd line support and infrastructure projects. You’ll act as an escalation point for IT Technicians while also taking the lead on delivering solutions across cloud, infrastructure and security for a varied customer base.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Acting as the technical escalation point for the IT Support team
  • Troubleshooting complex 2nd/3rd line issues across infrastructure, cloud and networking
  • Delivering IT projects including migrations, upgrades and new implementations
  • Administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
  • Supporting Windows Server, VMware and Hyper‑V platforms
  • Managing backup and storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Veeam)
  • Working with firewalls, VPNs, wireless and wider security technologies
  • Producing clear documentation and contributing to shared technical knowledge
  • Working directly with customers, both on‑site and remotely

What they’re looking for:
  • Strong experience in a 2nd or 3rd line IT support / infrastructure role
  • Confident with Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting
  • Solid Windows Server and virtualisation experience
  • Good networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless)
  • Backup and storage experience
  • Comfortable owning escalations and managing multiple priorities
  • Clear communication skills and a strong customer‑first mindset
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with genuine interest in technology
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
  • MSP experience (Essential)

Nice to have:
  • Azure IaaS design and deployment
  • Firewall and network security technologies
  • PowerShell or automation experience
  • Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA or ITIL certifications (or working towards them)

If you’re an IT Engineer looking for responsibility, variety and a role where your input actually counts, this is a strong next move.
